Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/16/2010
Close to three-quarters of the William Paterson V145-1 set from 1923-24 is up for grabs here, with the rookie card of King Clancy leading the way. Like approximately two-thirds of the group, it falls into the "Good" range, with no heavy creases, but with soiling, peripheral light creases and corner wear. Jack Adams' RC (#24) is a tad better at G-VG, as is 13-Joe Malone. Other G notable RCs of Hall-of-Famers are 2-Nighbor, 4-Darragh, 10-Denneny and 23-Dye, along with #s 5, 8-Hitchman, 9-Broadbent, 20, 21, 27, 29, 31, 33, 35, 36 and 38. The first card, (Eddie Gerard), is F-G, while with either paper loss or a small tear (P and F) are #s 6, 17, 22, 26, 30, 32, 34 and 40. Missing are 7-Benedict, 12, 14-Joliat, 15-Morenz, 16, 18, 19-Vezina, 25-Corbeau, 28, 37, and 39. Fine opportunity to score some coveted pre-war cardboard treasures.
