Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010

For the most part, a rather nice uniform-condition '53-54 Parkhurst set put together by the original purchaser features very few creases, with the majority of the cardboard grading VG-EX, EX, EX+ and EX-MT, with however moderate browning/toning to consider/factor-in and some lesser conditions among the key cards. Leading the way are Richard, Howe, Sawchuk, Worsley RC, Bathgate RC and Howell RC (all at least EX+), while Horton (EX), Beliveau RC (G), 1-Lumley (G-VG), Harvey (VG-EX), Geoffrion (VG+) and 30-Lach/Richard (VG) are the other notables. Only five others don't make it into the VG-EX to EX-MT grades; #s 21, 55, 73, 97 and 100. The "doubles" meanwhile are overall not as nice, with however (35) resembling the set (crease-free VG-EX, with again browning), and including Sawchuk, Harvey, Geoffrion, Moore, Arbour, Lindsay, Mosienko and #s 10-Nesterenko RC, 12, 33, 34, 39, 40-Kelly, 41, 42, 54, 61, 62, 63, 64-Stanley, 65, 67-72, 84, 85, 87, 89, 90, 94 and 95. The remainder are generally in the G, G-VG and VG range and include Richard and Lach/Richard (both VG), and Worsley (G). Cards needed to complete the second set are #s 1, 13, 14, 15, 18, 27, 74-76, 88 and 96-99. Several possibilities with these swell old Parkies.
