Wondrous cream, gold and black wool Boston Bruins uniform dates back to the 1949-50 and 1950-51 seasons and was worn by centerman Paul Ronty who spent four seasons with the Bruins and another four with the New York Rangers, finishing his hockey career with a four-game stint in Montreal with the Canadiens. This vintage uniform from the Original Six era displays two full seasons of washings and use with loads of pilling and a few small unrepaired holes. The beautifully-preserved two-tone felt back numbers feature that striking meandering stitch and the ancient spoked "B" on the chest is also crafted in heavy felt. This all-original sweater has the blue rectangular Jim McCarthy Athletic Equipment tag in the tail. Comes with a matched set of yellow, black and cream socks, littered with team repairs and an old pair of well-worn and repaired Bruins pants also tagged by Jim McCarthy in size 44. According to hockey historian and noted Boston game worn sweater collector Harvey McKenney, it was typical for players of the era to include the socks and pants(a complete uniform) when they gifted a jersey. What a wonderful collection! [red] Addendum; Take notice that further research has shown that Paul Ronty wore the number 20 with the Bruins. Cliff Thompson wore the number 21 in 1948-49 and Phil Maloney wore the number 21 in 1949-50 and 1950-51.[/red]
