Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/16/2010
Maple Leafs collectors have an exciting opportunity at hand with this remarkable lot of General Motors team memorabilia from the early-1930s. Featured is an original and fully intact GM Hockey Broadcast 100-piece Maple Leafs puzzle that comes along with its original box. The fully assempled puzzle displays a team photo of the 1932 Stanley Cup champions with the silver chalice resting comfortably at captain Hap Day's feet. GM's sponsorship of Foster Hewitt's Hockey Night in Canada radio broadcasts also brought about published guides. Two 1933-34 GM hockey guides, one English and the other in French and both complete with fold-out schedules, are included along with an original mailing envelope. An original 14" x 11" Charlie Conacher premium photo, which is missing the pocket schedule on the reverse, comes with its reply letter from GM and mailing envelope. The same size photo of Conacher appears on one of two vintage GM ads, the other features Hewitt.
