Phil Esposito's in-the-crease style has him sitting high up on the NHL's all-time scoring list with 717 goals. This is Phil's heavy knit uniform worn during the late-seventies while with the New York Rangers. This white durene shield style was used only for two seasons and is highly sought-after by collectors of vintage game worn Rangers uniforms. The Gerry Cosby tag appears in the neck with a size "52" label sewn to one side. Espo's captain's "C" is affixed to the chest in single-layer tackle twill and his surname sits above the back number in lettering applied directly onto the jersey (no plate). The canvas loop-style fight strap is there in the tail. Game wear includes a handful of light marks on the lower front with a good stick slash on the blue waistband. The left arm shows more stick work and burns with a single stitched team repair at the elbow. More scuffs appear on the opposite arm along with some light rust-colored staining and a peek inside the arms reveals areas of pilling. [red] Addendum; Take note that this jersey is now photo matched to the new photo provided on our auction listing and has also been registered with the MeiGray group as such. A new photo has also been added on the listing which is showing the “photo match”, mark on the number "7" on the left sleeve which is also on the actual jersey.[/red]
