Sensational and extremely rare original panoramic photo of the record-setting 1943-44 Stanley Cup champions Montreal Canadiens is offered here. The Canadiens went 38-5-7 as eight players averaged at least one point per game, including Lach, Blake, Richard, O'Connor, Getliffe, Watson, Heffernan and Chamberlain. Montreal went on to win eight of nine playoff games against Toronto and Chicago to claim its fifth Stanley Cup, and first since 1931. Durnan, Bouchard and the Punch Line are featured along with the Habs' braintrust of Irvin and Gorman in this original studio print measuring a shade under 8" x 20" which remains in excellent condition, particularly considering its vintage. "Le Club de Hockey Canadien - Champion de la National Hockey League - 1943-1944" appears in white lettering along ice in front of the front row, with "Photo Laurent Marsan" and the studio's Papineau Street Montreal address in the lower right. This incredible original team photo of one of the Canadiens' greatest championship teams is tear-free, with very minor surface marks to note. Ready for a suitable and worthy frame, this great vintage photograph would make an excellent addition to your Habs/Stanley Cup shrine.
