Absolutely incredible original 1924-25 Montreal Canadiens team photograph features the team basking in the glow of its second Stanley Cup title. Georges Vezina, Howie Morenz and Aurele Joliat are front and center among the proud Habs displaying a globe on the front of their familiar red-white-and-blue wool sweaters as "World Champions". The team's soon-to-be-legendary "CH" crest was displayed on each sleeve, with Joliat's curiously inverted on the left sleeve. Morenz was fresh from leading the NHL champion Canadiens to victory over Calgary the previous spring, contributing a hat trick in a 6-1 win over the WCHL champion Tigers in the Stanley Cup final opener. He scored again as Vezina registered the shutout in a 3-0 Cup-clinching win. Coach and manager Leo Dandurand stands in a fur coat at the far right with the 1924-25 team's 10 players, including Sprague Cleghorn and Sylvio Mantha, standing along the goal line in front of a net. The Canadiens repeated as NHL champions but were unable to retain the Cup, falling to Victoria in the final. Nicely detailed photo clearly displays signs along the arena wall in the background. This vintage studio photograph remains in excellent-plus condition within its well-worn original 16" x 24" wood frame. A rare and sensational find, this exceptional 1924-25 Habs team photo begs to be displayed in a worthy Canadiens shrine.
