This bright gold alternate-style Koho air-knit jersey was worn by fan favorite blueliner Don Sweeney on January 11th, 2003 for the NHL and NHLPA joint charitable initiative to raise funds and awareness for cancer research with their Hockey Fights Cancer program. Featured is the 2003 Hockey Fights Cancer patch that rests up on the right breast just above a neatly-signed Don Sweeny autograph. The Koho-labeled jersey has the size 54 flag tag sewn in the neck, the assistant Captain's "A" sewn on the breast, the number "32" sewn on both the back and sleeves and "Sweeney" sewn on the back nameplate. The jersey displays great game use with a series of stick marks and slashes on the lower front and eleven team repairs on the sleeves. The amount of wear leads us to believe the jersey was worn for a number of games leading up to the January 11th Hockey Fights Cancer match. Comes with MeiGray's inventory patch in the hem with a number matching that on the accompanying letter of authenticity from the NHL-MeiGray Game Worn Jersey Authentication Program.
