Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010

Heavy black knit worn by longtime Bruins defenceman Gord Kluzak circa the mid to late-Eighties. The towering blueliner toiled in Boston over seven seasons, taking full season breaks from the game in 1984-85 and 1986-87 due to problems with his knees. This CCM-made jersey is tagged by Maska in the collar with an "86 04" born-on tag sewn in behind. The letters forming Gord's surname are sewn directly onto the shirt and there is evidence that the jersey had a nameplate removed at some point previous. Game wear is obvious with scattered stick marks and material pulls in addition to three smaller bullet-style team repairs.[red] Addendum; Further research on this jersey has proven that it was possibly worn by Gord Kluzak during the playoffs of 1985-86 as well as in the pre-season of 1986-87. Kluzak was injured for all the regular season of 1986-87. [/red]
