Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010

Fascinating Bobby Orr game used stick saw action in the 1976 Canada Cup. After missing the 1972 Summit Series because of a knee injury, Bobby finally got to make an appearance on the international stage four years later, and what an appearance it was! Hobbled by knee problems throughout the tournament, Bobby claimed Canada Cup MVP honors as he helped lead Team Canada to victory over Czechoslovakia in the final. Red paint transfer on the front and back of the shaft just above the band of "Vic" tape at the bottom of the shaft offer evidence of great game use. Bobby's #4 appears in faded blue marker where the "O" would be in his first name where "BBY ORR" is stamped on the front of the shaft. The stick's blade is bare and Bobby's distinctively taped knob runs 9" down from the butt end. A truly historic Bobby Orr gamer from his last flash of greatness in an all-too-brief career.
