Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010

Tantalizing opportunity for true Bobby Orr enthusiasts, offered here is a pair of the great Boston Bruins defenceman's game used skates from the 1974-75 season. Bobby claimed his record eighth straight Norris Trophy as the NHL's top blueliner. That was pretty much a foregone conclusion after he scored an incredible 46 goals - a record for NHL defenceman that has only been topped by Paul Coffey. He added 89 assists to claim his second Art Ross Trophy with 135 points. These well-worn CCM Super Tacks have been positively matched to action photos from the 1974-75 season that offer thorough looks at both sides of each skate, as well as the undersole which has a number "2" written in black marker. Bobby's #4 decals remain on the outside of each heel, with some vinyl loss, particularly on the left boot decal. A gouge through the word "Tacks" in the leather part of the outside heel of the right skate as well as battered toes offer testimony to these Orr skates' extensive active duty. Good luck in your bid to add these game used treasures to your Bobby Orr shrine!
