Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/16/2010
The World Hockey Association's 1975-76 season saw the Winnipeg Jets claim top prize for the first time in the team's 4-year history. Jets` right winger Willy Lindstrom contributed with 4 goals and 7 assists in 13 playoffs games as Winnipeg lost just once en route to winning the Avco World Trophy Championship. The Jets swept the Houston Aeros in the finals after both teams had finished with 106 regular season points. Willy's championship ring features a big blue stone surrounded by the words "Winnipeg Jets ? 75 WHA 76 Champions". "Jets" in gold is on the blue rock. One shank features the WHA skater logo and "Avco Cup" above it, while "Lindstrom" and a Jets logo are on the other. Ring is a size 7 1/2 and is stamped "Jostens 10K" on the inside band. The ring exhibits minor wear but remains in excellent condition. The sensational memento will come with a letter of authenticity signed by Willy Lindstrom.
