Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/16/2010
Superb and historic game used memorabilia here with the stick Norm Ullman used to reach the 350-goal plateau in January of 1969. After being a consistent scorer during his 13 seasons with the Red Wings (324 goals), Norm was dealt to Toronto in a blockbuster trade the previous March, the Leafs also obtaining Paul Henderson, Floyd Smith and Doug Barrie in exchange for Mahovlich, Unger, Stemkowski and the rights to Carl Brewer. Ullman gave Toronto more of his fine two-way play and scored 35 times in '68-69, playing mostly with Henderson and Smith, his 21st of the season being milestone marker number 350 and one of three he scored on the night! The momentous event took place January 4th, a 5-3 win over the Rangers at Maple Leaf Gardens. Norm's Northland Custom Pro milestone stick has "350" in black marker on one side of the shaft, while the front is stamped "Ullman", "Left" and "Lie No 5". Recently retrieved from the Hall of Fame, the lumber has its original black tape on the blade, where a time crack is visible at the tip, and black also forms the knob. Showing good use with black stick and puck marks, the stick is solid and will come with Mr. Ullman's signed letter of authenticity.
