Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
The letter, signed by Calgary Cowboys coach Joe "The Crow" Crozier, that accompanies this historic game puck tells the whole story. It reads, in part: "I would also like to present you the last ever home game puck from our April 7th game against Winnipeg. Chipper grabbed the puck from the linesman before he left the ice. I can't think of a more deserving person than yourself mate". The puck itself is a WHA Biltrite gamer with an attached label that reads "April 7, 1977 Calgary Corral, Winnipeg 6 at Calgary 4, Attd 3693" and "Last Game Puck Ever Used". The letter, to a "Michael" is on creamy Cowboys team stationery and is dated June 11th, 1977. Hockey history here!
