Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
With Ray Bourque's original #7 stamped on the shaft and added to his red marker signature on the blade of this Sher-Wood game used stick, it's clear that this beauty dates from the outset of his Hall of Fame career. Bourque has personalized his signature, "All the best", across the face of the blade that had its original black tape removed. His original white tape job on the butt end remains intact on this sensational black and white Sher-Wood PMP 7030 that features "Bourque R 7" stamped in black on a white oval on the front of the shaft. Bourque memorably relinquished his number when the Bruins retired #7 in honor of Phil Esposito by peeling off his jersey and revealing his new #77 to a stunned and grateful Espo to the delight of the Boston Garden crowd. A Hall of Fame gamer in great condition from one of hockey's truly class acts.
