The captain in Colorado wore this pair of skates at the end of a championship season. Well-worn pair of Bauer Supreme Composite boots and Tuuk blades worn by Joe Sakic throughout the 1996 playoffs and into the final series. According to our consignor who obtained the boots and blade from Al Jenson, a former NHL goaltender and Sakic's good friend, this pair was worn on the night that Joe and his Avalanche benchmates hoisted Stanley's grail at the close of the 1996 Stanley Cup Finals. Although we are unable to come up with an exact match, these are identical in style to those Sakic is wearing in dozens of pics from the victory. Joe has added a perfect signature inside each boot and the skates show loads of use with scuffs, stick marks and custom reinforcing stitching. Each boot sports a black marker "19" on the bottom and the original laces are intact. Comes with a letter of authenticity.
