Bob Bourne had four Stanley Cups to his credit by the time he wore this fantastic white knit Islanders home jersey in 1985. A sensational gamer, this Bourne jersey exhibits outstanding game use with stick and puck marks galore. Bourne, who set an Islanders record with seven shorthanded goals in 1980-81, scored at least 20 goals six times during his 12 seasons with the Islanders, including three 30-goal seasons. Bourne rounded out his 14-year NHL career with two final seasons in Los Angeles, where he was one of a group of eight "Athletes Who Care" that were named Sports Illustrated's 1987 Sportsmen of the Year. The interior of the jersey shows fantastic wear with lots and lots of pilling. There is one small team repair on the front hem and a great board burn on the inside of the rear left hem. The white nameplate across the back of the shoulder was removed and resewn higher on the jersey by the team. Bourne's name is spelled out in individual blue tackle twill letters that are sewn onto the nameplate above his blue and orange No. 14. The familiar red, blue and white CCM logo is sewn onto the back right hem. The original fight strap remains sewn in place on the interior just at the base of the No. 14 on the back. This is truly a sensational example of a game used hockey jersey and it comes along with Bob Bourne's signed letter of authenticity.
