This sensational Mario Lemieux Titan TSM1001 gamer produced the budding superstar's first goal of the 1985-86 season. A "Sep 06 1985" factory stamp appears on the back of the shaft's natural wood lower portion, just below the white paint on the rest of the shaft. "M.LEMIEUX" is stamped on the face of the shaft and Lemieux's original black tape job remains in place on the blade and on the butt end of the stick. Lemieux used this great gamer to score the first of his 48 goals that season in a season-opening home loss to the Canadiens at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena. The notation "Oct 10 1985, First Goal 85/86 Season, 5-3 loss to Montreal" is etched in black ballpoint onto the front of the shaft beneath the red "Titan" logo. Lemieux would go on to record a team-record 141 points, finishing second only to Wayne Gretzky, who set an NHL single-season record that still stands with 215 points. This amazing Lemieux gamer from the outset of his Hall of Fame career with the Pittsburgh Penguins is in excellent condition overall and exhibits really nice use, including blue paint transfer on the shaft.
