Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
When reminiscing about the 1987 Canada Cup, Wayne Gretzky has said "I don't think you'll ever see better hockey than what was played in that series. For me, it was probably the best hockey I've ever played." Canada captured tournament honors, defeating the Soviets 5-4 in the third and deciding game of the finals after Mario Lemieux scored on a drop pass from Wayne. This pro-weight white knit replica of the jersey Wayne wore is a size 48 by CCM with all crests and numbers sewn on. Wayne has added a perfect silver marker signature on the back numbers above the hologram of authenticity from Channel Sports.
