Vintage graded card enthusiasts will be intrigued to read on about the details of this near set of Imperial Tobacco C-55 cards which include a wide gambit of grades, as determined by the SGC company. The most coveted card of the famous 1911-12 set, the Georges Vezina rookie card, came in at "VG/EX 4" and is one of 23 cards that is at least VG/EX 4. Leading the way at "NM 7" are #15-Stuart and 34-Glass, while just behind at "EX/NM 6" is 31-Art Ross, along with 10-Kerr, 14-Ridpath, 30-Hyland and 44-Poulin. There are then three cards at "EX+ 5.5"; 2-Joe Hall, 7-Mallen and 17-Darragh, followed by the largest representation of a grade, that of "EX 5". Fourteen such cards are highlighted by that of the legendary Cyclone Taylor, the others being #s 3, 9, 19, 22, 23, 26, 27-Smail (hand on stick), 32-Hern, 33-Roberts, 35-Russell, 41-Pitre, 43 and 45-Laviolette. Joining the Vezina card at VG/EX 4 is 42-Newsy Lalonde, as well as #s 5, 8, 12, 13 and 37. A grade lower at "VG 3" are six cards; 16-Lesueur, 18, 24-S. Cleghorn, 28-Johnson, 36 and 40. Possible desirable upgrades include #1-Paddy Moran, 11-Walsh, 21-Lindsay and 39-Dallaire (all of them "Good 2"), and #4-Joe Malone, the latter at "Poor 1". Two other cards, #s 25-O. Cleghorn and 29-Marshall are slabbed "A Auth". Just one card, 6-Dunderdale, is needed to complete the set. A fantastic opportunity here for those who have always dreamed of owning a good-looking C-55 set!
