Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009

An original Quebec Nordiques jersey and two Quebec Remparts sweaters are featured in this lot of three gamers from the provincial capital. A white knit Remparts jersey from the early 1970s features a red and white double-twill alternate captain's "A" sewn onto the left breast, a black twill Remparts crest on the front, and red twill numbers on the back and both sleeves. Louis Sleigher's blue #12 Nordiques Maska gamer features a red, white and blue triple-twill team crest sewn onto the front and has its original double cloth fight strap. The Nords' unfortunate use of heat-pressed white vinyl for the jersey's eight fleur-de-lys, the uniform numbers and surname letters has not stood the test of time, and little of the original vinyl is intact, though their outline is clear where it has been flaked off. The sleeves in particular exhibit great game use with team repairs and stick and puck marks and board burns galore. Junior goalie Mario Brunetta's 1984-85 Quebec Remparts Maska gamer exhibits great use, with a Nordiques patch sewn on the right shoulder, a gorgeous red, white and blue triple-twill team crest sewn on the front, and its original double cloth fight strap.
