Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
This fantastic Gordie Howe WHA Northland gamer features a wicked righthanded curve. The stick likely dates from Howe's days with the New England Whalers shortly before the franchise joined the NHL as one of the four surviving teams from the merger between the two pro leagues in 1979. This Howe beauty is perfectly intact with its original black tape job on the blade and butt end. Howe's registered pattern number on the shaft, which has a black, silver and gray tape band on the bottom of the shaft, "4957" stamped above it, and "HOWE" stamped in black letters further up the shaft towards the butt end. A great opportunity to add an original "Mr. Hockey" gamer to your collection.
