The Quebec Bulldogs brought the Stanley Cup to the provincial capital for the first time in 1912 and successfully defended their title the following season. Led by the scoring exploits of captain Joe Malone and Tommy Smith, the Bulldogs went 16-4 to capture the O'Brien Cup as 1912-13 National Hockey Association champions. Quebec easily held onto the Stanley Cup, outscoring Sydney 20-5 overall in a two-game challenge. Malone, who scored 43 goals during the regular season and nine more against Sydney, is centered in the front row of this huge team photo, seated directly behind the team's bulldog mascot, and flanked by goalie Paddy Moran and defenseman "Bad" Joe Hall. Smith, who is seated at the far left, had 39 regular season goals and four more in the two-game playoff. This vintage reproduction features an image of the Bulldogs and their hardware that measures roughly 19" x 30" with a white matte border titled, "Les Champions du Monde, (World's Champions), 1912-13" along the top, and "Le Club de Hockey 'Quebec', ('The Quebec Bulldogs')" on the bottom along with the players' names. This huge team photo is mounted in a 36" x 44" dark wood frame. A great piece for Stanley Cup collectors.
