Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
When he retired following the 2003 Stanley Cup playoffs, Patrick Roy owned the NHL goalie records for most games and wins - both in the regular season and the playoffs. This fantastic lot of eight items includes six signed by Roy, including a game-used white Ferland blocker glove from his early days with the Montreal Canadiens. He has signed in blue sharpie the blade of a Koho Revolution goalie stick, date stamped Oct. 1993, and one of two dinner plates from the Royal Quebec Golf Course. Ray Bourque has signed the other. Roy has also signed the front of an Avalanche jersey and each of two caps from Colorado's 2001 playoff run, one as the Western Conference champions, and another celebrating the team's second Stanley Cup, the fourth of Roy's Hall of Fame career. Roy has also autographed a framed 8" x 10" closeup shot of him wearing his Avalanche mask. A limited edition set of five pins commemorating his retirement completes this remarkable collection celebrating one of the greatest goalies ever.
