Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
This Soviet Union/Russian national team gamer from the 1992 world championships is a sensational international jersey that marks the end of the communist era. Vitali Prokhorov's surname is screened in white letters onto a red mesh nameplate sewn onto the back of the red polyester mesh Tackla USSR jersey. A bright yellow drop shadow highlights the screened-on "CCCP" on the front that features white and yellow bands across the chest, around the hem, and on both sleeve cuffs. White and blue "Allianz" sponsor logo patches are sewn onto each arm directly above the screened-on white drop-shadow #29 that also appears on the back. Prokhorov, who made his international debut in the 1991 Canada Cup, went on to play briefly for the St. Louis Blues.
