Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
One of the greatest American hockey players ever, Phil Housley kept his game sharp during the labor unrest that delayed the start of the 1994-95 NHL season by playing in Europe. Housley wore this heavily screened mesh Zurich Grasshoppers #6 jersey while playing for the Swiss League club team. He recorded 14 points in 10 games in Switzerland, including six goals and eight assists. The jersey's original L.S.W. Liiga Sport size XXL fly tag remains sewn into the neck beneath the powder blue Adidas collar. Housley's surname, his number and all the sponsors logos are screened on. This unique Swiss club jersey exhibits really nice wear with plenty of stick marks and board burns. A really unique find for your international jersey collection.
