This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
This great Soviet era game worn jersey evokes the flag of the U.S.S.R. with its bold use of the red and yellow colors of the hammer and sickle. A unique team crest sewn on the front features a snowman mascot wearing a red Soviet-style helmet and holding a goalie stick with CCCP on the paddle and the Izveztia tournament logo on the tip of its blade. The yellow vinyl bands around the arms and around the hem, which features a distinctive diamond pattern, are heat screened onto the jersey, as well as the #2 on the back and both sleeves. The surname "Gusev" is spelled out in red vinyl letters and screened onto a yellow nameplate sewn onto the back of the jersey. Yellow and red star patches are heat pressed onto each shoulder. Laundry instruction and Athletes Wear Co. Ltd. fly tags remain sewn into the neck of this outstanding 1980s Soviet gamer.
