Playing the majority of his career both with Wayne Gretzky and in Gretzky's shadow as his so called, "Right-hand Man," Jari Pekka Kurri was considered by many to be perhaps the best defensive forward in the NHL. His two-way abilities were the perfect complement for his hard, accurate shooting and scoring proficiency. In 1987-88, to cap off an impressive 43-goal and 96-point regular season performance, Jari Kurri stepped it up in the post season, posting another 14 goals and 17 assists in 19 playoff tilts. Offered is this superb blue Nike mesh uniform worn by Finnish Hall-of-Famer Jari Kurri during 1987-88 post-season play and into the thrilling Stanley Cup Final series against Boston. The stunning uniform, photo-matched to footage from Game Two against the Bruins, is tagged in the neck with the blue Nike label in size L/G with the black marker 87/88 year designation underneath. The material is supple and all cresting and numbers are puckered from wear and washings. The custom-shortened cuffs are there, as is the heavy fight strap in the tail with "1987-88" marked in black on the blue rectangular piece of reinforcing material at the base of the strap. Great game wear on this one with well over 100 black stick marks and slashes along with board burns and board paint transfer in blue and orange. Flipping the shirt inside out reveals heavy interior pilling and two typical Oilers-style material-backed team repairs. The nameplate holding Jari's surname crosses the back above his famous number "17". What a great shirt from the Oilers fourth Stanley Cup victory!
