Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009

The Flower has signed the bottom of the shaft of this fantastic Sherwood gamer from late in the 1983-84 season. The Canadiens legend has signed in ballpoint and written in French, "To one of my biggest fans and friend, best wishes, Guy Lafleur #10". A very smudged red factory stamp reads "March 14, 1984" and the original black tape remains in place on the blade, and white tape on the top of the shaft with a knob butt end. It's obvious that Lafleur faithfully prepared this stick for game use, though this beauty of a gamer exhibits really light use and is in unbelievably good condition overall. A fantastic find from Lafleur's last full season and final playoff run with the Montreal Canadiens.
