Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
Dandy souvenir of the Maple Leafs' Stanley Cup victory in the spring of 1963, this silvery serving tray features the images of hockey's ultimate prize and the Prince of Wales Trophy, along with facsimile autographs of the men who brought Toronto its second of three consecutive Cup titles. After edging Chicago by a single point (82-81) to take the regular season crown, the Leafs took care of Montreal and then Detroit in five-game playoff series, Dave Keon setting a record with two shorthanded goals in the 3-1 clincher at Maple Leaf Gardens. Handled tray measures just over 10" by 17" and is in nice shape with some light surface scratches to mention.
