Known as "The Turk," Derek Sanderson was a tough centre who was awarded the Calder Trophy for best rookie in 1968, the year after Orr won. He became known as a tough guy who wouldn't back down from any fisticuffs and was likely the best two-way player in the game. Winning two cups with the "Big Bad Bruins" in the 1969-70 and 1971-72 seasons helped Sanderson rise to celebrity, becoming one of hockey's first rebels. He grew his hair long and sported a moustache before it was fashionable, living life as large as possible. Derek Sanderson's well-worn and washed white durene Boston Bruins gamer is a peach! Tie-neck style with Wilson tag in the neck circa the 1969-70 Stanley Cup Championship season. Although the collar tagging displays a blank size box, this one measures 22-inches across the chest which is decorated with the spoked-B tackle-twill team crest. Nice game use with no less than nine circular team repair patches, nice inner pilling and a couple of areas of blue board paint transfer. A beautiful old durene gamer from the Bruins' glory years. Comes with a letter of authenticity and a copy of a photo showing Derek wearing this exact uniform!
