Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
One of the many tragic tales in hockey is the premature death of goaltending great Terry Sawchuk. His demise in 1970, compounded by his unapproachable nature, continues to drive the market higher for his signature. This full ballpoint example is centered on a vintage black and white photo postcard by J. D. McCarty picturing Terry in his white Red Wings uniform and Lippman's gloves circa the 1950's . The Sig is perfect and has the added "Best Wishes" above. The divided-back postcard is clean and crease-free and ready for display.
