Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
Terrific twig handled by the greatest goaltender of the Sixties, Terry Sawchuk. This example is a Northland Pro and one he wielded during his time in the Motor City as evidenced by the stamped "Lippman's Tool Shop, Detroit Michigan" store supplier stamp on both sides of the aged shaft. Terry's surname appears stamped midway up the shaft in bold black and his preferred "Lie No. 12" is also noted. The tape at the knob end and on the paddle and hefty blade is all intact and this stick shows very slight age cracking at the toe and again running up through the center of the paddle. Still, the stick is solid and very presentable. Sawchuk gamers are a tough find in any condition and this is one of the nicer examples we have ever offered.
