Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
For those of you who have yet to track down an autograph of the legendary Joe Malone comes this treasure. The Quebec City native was a scoring sensation wherever he played, which included Quebec, Hamilton and Montreal. His 44 goals in just 20 games during the NHL’s first season was a mark that stood until Maurice Richard came along, and a 7-goal performance in 1920 still stands as the most goals in an NHL game. He totaled 146 goals in 125 NHL games and is credited with scoring 379 times during his professional career. Malone’s bold blue ballpoint signature on a 3"x5" index card here is accompanied by "Member of Hockey Hall of Fame." "Phantom" Joe Malone was elected to the Hall in 1950 and died in 1969. An absolute prerequisite to a serious Hall of Fame autograph collection, this one will be a coveted acquisition.
