Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
Left winger Yvon Lambert broke into the pro hockey ranks in 1970-71, playing 65 games with the Port Huron Flags of the International Hockey League. This is Lambert’s red durene uniform from that period with a stunning and intricately-designed tackle twill and chain stitch front crest. The shirt, similar to what the Red Wings were wearing at the time, was custom tailored by the Sport Shop in Port Huron, according to neck tagging and remnants of a fly tag below that suggest it is a size 46. A General Athletic label is sewn into the lower hem and the single layer number "9" on the back and arms might lead one to believe it is a Gordie Howe Wings gamer, when viewed from behind. Nice game wear with a number of material runs, two of which run about six inches in length and some solid interior pilling. Will come complete with a letter of authenticity.
