Denied his preferred No. 16 when he joined Montreal because the number already belonged to 11-time Stanley Cup champion Henri Richard, Yvon Lambert wore No. 11 throughout his eight-year career with the Canadiens. After wearing No. 15 with Buffalo in 1981-82, since Sabres superstar Gil Perreault already had No. 11, Lambert reclaimed his No. 16 for his final two pro seasons with the AHL’s Rochester Americans. This stunning Amerks blue road jersey features red-on-white double twill numbers, stars on both shoulders, and individual surname letters stitched onto a blue nameplate. The red, white and blue triple twill Americans logo is stitched onto the front of the jersey. The Maska logo is embroidered in white on the right tail and a washed-out size 50 fly tag remains sewn into the right side of the back of the neck. A double cloth fight strap is also sewn into the lower back of the jersey. This gorgeous AHL gamer exhibits fantastic wear, with stick marks, paint transfer, nicks and dings galore. Lambert helped lead coach Mike Keenan’s young Americans (sorry, David Bowie fans, I couldn’t resist) to a Calder Cup win with a four-game sweep of the Maine Mariners in 1983. Lambert was back in the final the following season, but the Mariners got their revenge and prevented Joe Crozier’s squad from repeating. A fantastic opportunity to pick up one of the last pro jerseys worn by a four-time Stanley Cup champion, this jersey comes along with Yvon Lambert’s signed letter of authenticity.
