Wayne Gretzky and his management team will forever be credited for putting together the perfect complement of Canadian-born players to challenge the best of the world at the 2004 World Cup of Hockey. Following their 3-2 championship game win over Finland, the team and staffers were presented with stunning gold rings to commemorate the gold medal performance. This exquisite finger decoration, presented to team massage therapist Stu Poirier, features the Hockey Canada logo swimming in a sea of small real diamonds with "World Cup Champions" and four larger stones on the face. The Hockey Canada logo is artfully crafted on one shank with "Poirier" and "NT" while the other side has the intricately sculpted 2004 World Cup design punctuated by two smaller diamonds. 38 additional sparkling diamonds run around the edge of the ring. Stamped "Intergold" and "10K" on the interior of the band, the size 9 ring is in excellent-plus condition and comes housed in the oak presentation box with identified and named plaque. From the personal collection of Stu Poirier with an accompanying letter of authenticity and an additional jeweler’s appraisal document listing the weight of the ring at 33.20 grams with a detailed evaluation of the diamonds.
