Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
This rare team photograph from the early days of organized hockey depicts the Corticelli Silk Co. hockey team, the 1906 winners of Toronto's Mercantile Hockey League. This crisp studio photo shows the team's players and administrators gathered around the league championship trophy. The vintage 13 '" x 10" print is attached to its paper backing, with the team and its players identified in black print below the photo, and mounted on its original black-colored 19" x 16" cardboard backing that has some very minor damage on its edges. The A.A. Gray & Co. studio of Toronto is identified in the lower left part of this fascinating photograph, which has a small, light scratch on the right part of the picture, which is otherwise in outstanding condition.
