Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
Vezina-winning goalie Dave Kerr capped his outstanding season by leading New York to the Stanley Cup as Bryan Hextall scored the Cup-winning goal in overtime in game 6 against Toronto in 1939-40. This is the rare and original team photo presentation montage, identical to those presented to the members of that victorious squad back in that day. GM Lester Patrick and coach Frank Boucher appear along with Kerr, Coulter, Heller, Shibicky, Mac and Neil Colville, Watson, Smith, Lynn and Murray Patrick, Pratt, Hextall, McDonald, Hiller and Pike. The original black wood frame measures approximately 20" x 27" and the individual photos of the team’s members surround the tall earlier version of the Stanley Cup. A remarkable find for any New York Rangers and/or Stanley Cup collector. In near-perfect condition and ready for display.
The beauty of the rare photos featured in this incredible collection of hockey memorabilia is not solely in the eye of the beholder, rather it’s obvious to one and all.
