Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
Nifty and very rare promotional piece from Uniform Enrg. Red’d. of Montreal was used as a team fundraiser as explained on the verso. Minor hockey teams were given the opportunity to sell these photos in order to win premiums such as Canadiens and Maroons team sweaters, socks, shin guards, toques, pucks and hockey sticks to fill their pressing equipment needs. The photo, on paper stock, features a black and white Rice image of the 1934-35 Habs including Newsy Lalonde, Aurele Joliat, Armand Mondou, Joe Lamb, Georges Mantha and Pit Lepine. With some creasing of note and pinholes at each corner, the 8" x 12" photo is deserving of a very good grading.
The beauty of the rare photos featured in this incredible collection of hockey memorabilia is not solely in the eye of the beholder, rather it’s obvious to one and all. The pages that follow are filled with incredible treasures such as original team photos of some of the earliest Stanley Cup champions that speak to the great and broad history of the game. Lovingly fashioned by one of the hobby’s most enthusiastic and determined collectors, the remarkable items offered here for auction include some lots that are subject to a silent reserve. We are confident that this truly historical gathering of hockey artifacts and memorabilia will spark the enthusiasm and passion that drive your desire to seek and acquire nothing short of the best.
