The Toronto St. Patricks professional men’s ice hockey team started as an amateur ice hockey organization. In 1919, the club purchased the Toronto National Hockey League (NHL) franchise from the Arena Company and the NHL and renamed the franchise the Toronto St. Patricks club operating thusly until 1927 when it was sold to a partnership of Conn Smythe and Toronto investors. The club won the Stanley Cup in 1922. The incarnation of the team pictured here dates back to the 1925-26 season and identified along the bottom are early stars Babe Dye, Dutch Cain, Happy Day, Bert Corbeau and Jack Adams to name a few. The vintage black and white panoramic photo is identified in white "St. Pats Pro. Hockey Team, Toronto, 1925-26" and matted and framed to a finished size of 12" x 22" with a smaller image dimension. In excellent condition.
