Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
Classic collage-style photo on heavy cardstock presents the roster and management of the 1928-29 Ottawa Senators. The team’s financial troubles continued through the ’28-29 season and two offsite matches were actually played in Detroit due to poor attendance at Ottawa home games. Those pictured include stars-of-the-day Frank "King" Clancy, Alex Connell, Alex Smith, Frank Finnigan, George Boucher and Frank Nighbor along with Allen Shields, Bill Touhey, Hec Kilrea, Fred Elliott, Milt Halliday and Len Grosvenor. Water staining and mildew along one side affect the condition but the piece is still very presentable and certainly rare and historic. Measuring 11 x 14 inches, this photo montage is unframed and stamped on the backside by The Grayle Advertising Service.
