Ancient gathering of mementos celebrating the national pastime of the United States dates back to the turn-of-the-century... the 20th century, to be clear. The collection starts off with a large framed presentation team photograph picturing the Dukes Baseball Club of 1900. Each player is identified and the photo display, in very good condition with some staining, measures out to 25 x 28 inches. A well-used (uncracked) Spalding 125-S model bat is paired with a small-sized hand-made baseball from the early 1900’s. A set of well-worn baseball cleats, from the 1930’s we expect, is also here. The “New Game of Baseball” board game, made in Canada, includes the die, playing pieces, instructions and a used score sheet, all housed in a wonderful litho box. Next, a pair of Orbit pins from the early 1930’s, one picturing Lon Warnke of the Cubs and the other featuring the Yankees’ Sam Bird. Both are in average condition with expected wear. Finally, four vintage pin back buttons, featuring the team logos of the Detroit Tigers, St. Louis Browns, Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Indians, round out the collection. This grouping averages very good to excellent and each pin is about ¾” in diameter. One bid takes it all.
