The 2009 Montreal Centennial Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/24/2009
The Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens squared off in a preseason game on September 26, 1995 in the last NHL game at the Boston Garden. This recycled jersey from the previous season has “Official Boston Bruins Playoff Set 1994-95 Season” screened onto the inside of the tail a “Thanks for the Memories Boston Garden” logo with “02”written in marker in a box within the logo. The “Lettering by Custom Crafted” to the left is smudged. A Boston Garden “The Last Hurrah” the final game remains sewn onto the right breast. The fight strap remains, as do the CCM and size 52 fly tags in the neck. The jersey exhibits nice wear with great stick marks, notably on the southeast spoke of the hub on the Bruins crest on the front of the jersey. The right elbow has board burns, tiny holes and slash cuts, and the left elbow has a tiny hole to note. The knit jersey has a mesh nameplate, with two-tone black and yellow twill letters sewn onto it. The stitching to fold the front seam of the v-neck collar has let go but the fabric has not torn.
