The 2009 Montreal Centennial Auction

Sidney Crosby broke into the NHL and hit the ground running, scoring over 100 points in his first year. He upped the total to 120 in his sophomore season and was on track to break the century-mark by at least 14 points when injury sidelined him for a number of games in 2007-08. Like Sidney Crosby, this black Pittsburgh Penguins home jersey donned by the young phenom during the 2005-06 season is the real deal! Already regarded by most as hockeys premier player, Sidneys on-ice exploits thus far in his NHL career call out to be compared to those of hockeys all-time greatest players. Sidney wore this white airknit jersey in his rookie year, and it has the teams special Cutting Edge Sports tag inside the rear hem that reads, in part, has crested and manufactured the numbering and lettering for Sidney Crosby #87. The tag has the facsimile signature of former Pens head equipment manager Steve Latin. Evidence of game use is light, but obvious, and includes about ten black stick marks on the front with a similar number on the sleeves and a nice bluish mark up on the right shoulder crest that has been conclusively photo matched. Tagged in the collar by CCM in size 54 with the Reebok emblem affixed to the back of the neck. What a piece to own as Crosbys exhilarating career unfolds! Will come with a letter of authenticity and two 8x10 photos of Crosby in action showing the match details.
