Carl Voss, Robert LeBel and Bill Hanley all Hall-of-Famers in the builders category have each signed in blue ballpoint their respective hockey cards from the Halls popular 1980s set. After a pair of brief stints with Toronto in the late-1920s, the American-born Voss was traded from New York to Detroit early in the 1932-33 season and became the first recipient of the Calder Trophy as the NHLs rookie of the year. The Massachusetts native went on to play for the Ottawa Senators, St. Louis Eagles, New York Americans and Montreal Maroons before a knee injury forced him to retire after he scored the Stanley Cup winner for Chicago in 1938. Voss ultimately made it to the Hall in 1974 on the basis of his outstanding contributions following his playing days to the leagues on-ice officiating. The president of the CAHA from 1957 to 1969, LeBel also served a two-year stint as president of the IIHF in the early-1960s. He was admitted to the Hall in 1970 and went on to serve as president of the QMJHL. Hanley was inducted in 1986 for his administrative efforts during a 30-year career in amateur hockey in Ontario. All three cards feature Carleton McDiarmids remarkable artwork.
