Lovely 100+ year old antique chinaware features the man who donated hockeys Stanley Cup while Canadas Governor General and who returned home in July, 1893 to become the Sixteenth Earl of Derby following the death of his brother. Stanley later became Mayor of Preston in 1902. This commemorative tea pot with lid, also dated 1902, features scrolled Earl Derby K.G. Guild Mayor surrounding Stanleys portrait. The souvenir was produced for the September 1902 Preston Guild celebration and is the perfect companion piece to the cup and saucer we offered in an earlier auction. In excellent condition with a few slight chips at the very base.
