A member of Team USA in 1984 at the XIV Olympic Winter Games in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia, defenceman Chris Chelios registered four points in six games. In 1998 at the XVIII Olympic Winter Games in Nagano, Japan, Chelios served as team captain and tied for second in team scoring. His extensive background with USA Hockey includes helping guide the U.S. to the inaugural 1996 World Cup of Hockey Championship, skating for the United States in three Canada Cup tournaments (1984, 1987 and 1991), contributing to a silver-medal winning performance by the Americans in 1991. This amazing old knit was worn by Chris Chelios during the 1984 Olympics. The only tagging is an AHA-approved label up in the collar and Chris surname runs across the creamy plate in two-tone tackle twill. Great game wear with a number of stick marks and slashes, board paint and several areas of blood staining, heavier at the right cuff, that has been matched to the jersey Chris is wearing in a game action photo from the 1984 tournament. A beautiful and rare rookie-era game jersey worn by this Hall-of-Fame-bound defenceman. Comes with a digital image of the photo match. [red] Accoring to the person we originally obtained this jersey from, it was obtained directly from Chris Chelios as part of a trade for art pieces back when Chelios played for the Montreal Canadiens.
