The 2009 Montreal Centennial Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/24/2009
Ticket holders for this fantastic Montreal Forum white seat had a full view of the ice spread out in front of them. From its position in the front row of the 601 section of the balcony on thede Maisonneuve (Burnside Avenue for those that go back that far) end of the hockey shrine, this single chair with a white-painted wood seat back and a brown seat cushion with its original metal frame was positioned behind the goal that the Canadiens defended in the first and third periods. It was also the end the Habs shot on during the opening period of playoff overtime games, so it bore witness to Yvon Lamberts series clincher against the Bruins in 1979, Claude Lemieuxs Game 7 winner over the Whalers in 1986 and most of the home overtime goals the Habs scored in their incredible 1993 run. The No. 2 is stencil painted in red in the middle of the seatback and a CH logo sticker has been placed on the right side. [red] Will come with a Certificate of Authenticity. [/red]
