After winning a gold medal with Canada when hockey was a demonstration sport in the 1920 Olympics in Antwerp, Belgium, Frank Fredrickson won the Stanley Cup with the Vancouver Cougars in 1925 as a member of the last non NHL team to claim the Cup. Fredrickson joined the NHL with Detroit in 1926 and also played with Boston and Pittsburgh before retiring from the league in 1931. Elected to the Hall of Fame in 1958, Fredrickson has personalized his autograph signed on June 18, 1977 in Vancouver, “Victoria Cougars 1925, To Mac, my best wishes” in blue ink, while signing his name beneath it in black ink. Painted on 15 ½” x 13” professional illustration board, this unique portrait of Fredrickson – who died in 1979 – is presented in a grey matte and mounted in a stylish 20” x 16” silver-colored metal frame.
